Since 1914
Built as a bank, built to last
The Waterloo Building opened in 1914 as the Leavitt & Johnson National Bank — ten stories of stone and steel that announced downtown Waterloo had arrived. The original bank vault is still in the building, its century-old door a regular conversation piece for visiting clients.
We're now pursuing listing of the building on the National Register of Historic Places, working with the Iowa State Historic Preservation Office.
